Untapped Power in Prayer

Perhaps this day and age are unaccustomed to the true power of God. But over the last year I have seen what can happen in the lives of people when prayer is administered effectively and fervently.

At the beginning of the year, during a visit with my wives sister and husband, I saw firsthand the awe inspiring power of God. My brother in law received a phone call late that night telling about his grandfather who was on his death bed and not expecting to live through the night. Him and I jump in the car and drive to the house where the family has gathered to pay their last respects. In the course of events the grandfather was asking to be baptized. The man had never received the holy Ghost, nor had many of his family. Predominantly a catholic family, they were opposed to the man being baptized in Jesus name, but it was what the grandfather was asking for. My brother in law being a minister baptized his grandfather in front of a somewhat hostile family, in a horse troth that they borrowed from a church. They had to physically carry the man to the troth, however when he came clear of the water his face had regained color and he was coherent and walked unassisted to his bedroom to lay down. Needless to say it was many months later that this man passed from this life. He never received the Holy Ghost, but since that night, aunts and uncles, the grandfathers wife, and many more of that family have found themselves in the altars of Apostolic church’s speaking in tongues and in one particular case, has felt his call to preach.

There is truly untapped power in prayer. There are many instances that I can think about and perhaps you can to, about the demonstrations of the power of God when His people pray. So as the years draw to a close, holidays are approaching, let us never forget to spend our allotted times in prayer. For we never know the day that God may want to demonstrate his power.

My sincere prayer is that this blog would strengthen, encourage, and uplift your life of prayer. I pray that God shelter, protect, and anoint each of you and your ministries.

God Bless,
